Mixed Media Bookmark

Hi Crafty Friends,
Fairuz Fabiha here from Craftivation. Today I’m back again with a technique of using the amazing Robin’s Nest dewdrops! I’ll be showing you how I used these mini dewdrops to not only embellish my project but also add texture on the background using the dewdrops.
For my today’s project, I’ve decided to make an mdf bookmark.

Step by step process:

1. At first I took an mdf tag by Lisa Horton Crafts as the base of my bookmark.

2. Applied a layer of Fabrikadecoru resist texture paste through the maze stencil by Lisa Horton Crafts.

3. Added mini dew drops by the Robin’s Nest all around the edges of the bookmark and applied a layer off gesso to prime the surface.

4. Applied layers of spray paints by Fabrikadecoru.

5. Embellished the bookmark with mdf tag sentiment, sisal, tassel and ribbon.

6. Finally added some white dewdrops to finish it off.

Art Journal Layout

Hello Craftivators!
Today I’ll be sharing with you some inspirational pictures of a beautiful art journal layout I recently created. This project is my entry for the More Than Words Challenge for the month of December.
The theme of this month’s challenge is “Rejoice and Anything Goes”

Today’s project is really special and very dear to my heart because it is related with my mother. I ‘rejoice’ every moment I spent with my mom since childhood till today. She has always been my biggest support, reason to smile, a shoulder to cry on and my best friend with whom I can share everything. This layout is a small tribute to her and our special bond.
The picture I used in the layout is from the year 2001, when I was just one and a half years old. This picture is very precious!

For the ‘Anything Goes’ part of the challenge, I used mixed media to complete the project.

Mixed Media Altered Cardboard Birdhouse

Hi Craftivators!
Today I’ll be sharing with you some inspirational pictures of how I altered a DIY cardboard Birdhouse using mixed media.
I created this project as my entry for the December challenge of Mixed Media Academy and Bleeding Art Challenge

Winter is all about fun, love, coziness and beautiful white fluffy snow! I tried to interpret that image through my cozy birdhouse covered with snow. Using multiple types of mediums (mixed media) in my projects is my favorite style. That’s what I tried to show through my project.
